I’m super thrilled that the wonderful Kayla @ kdrewkthebookworm tagged me to participate in the Book Monsters Tag, which was created by Beth @ betwixt-the-pages. Everybody check out their blogs! Now! (Okay, after you’ve read this post.)
Of course, the first thing that come to my mind when I read monsters, is the world of Harry Potter, so all of my monsters below are from this—dare we say it?—perfect series.
I Tag:
- Islay Loves Books
- Rakioddbooks
- The Not So Secret Life of a Fan Girl
- Fabled Haven
- Books and Fiction
- And everybody else who wants to do it! Go! What are you waiting for?
The Rules:
- You can use any monsters you’d like- cute monsters, not so cute monsters- and compare them each with a book!
- Make sure you link back to the original artists of the images you use so they get credit!
- If you can, tell us why you chose each pair, but if you don’t have a reason why, that’s okay, too.
- If you want to keep this tag going, be sure to tag people!
- Please link back to Betwixt These Pages to give her credit and so she can see all your posts!
- Have fun!
The Fun
Aragog – The Fault in Our Stars, John Green
Because it’s a trap! If you open this book you must finish it in the next 9 hours. Forget about sleep and nutrition, and mostly, brace yourself. Pain demands to be felt.
Basilisk – Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn
Because Amy’s just as vicious as a snake. I’m sure even if Fawkes blinds her she’ll still find a way to ruin her husband.
Fawkes – Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins
Well, obviously, because there’s a girl/mockingjay on fire involved.
Grawp – Outlander, Diana Gabaldon
Scary in its size, but so sweet inside.
Mermaid – The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Neil Gaiman
I’m not so sure, here. Probably only because of the cover.
Fluffy – The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R Tolkien
Because I kept falling asleep as I read this. (I know, SHAME ON ME.) Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I was just really tired that week and didn’t need the lullaby to drift off. Honest.
It also reminds me of Fluffy because it’s a trilogy. (Ahah, get it? Three?)
Dragon – Throne of Glass, Sarah J. Maas
Because it’s downright badass. But also has a fairy tale feel to it.
Dobby – Twilight, Stephenie Meyer
Because I keep defending it. (Long live S.P.E.W.) And the nostalgic feeling linked to the novel is just as loyal as the elf.
Ghosts – Thirteen Reasons Why, Jay Asher
Because it’s haunting. And there’s a dead girl talking to you through the whole novel.

What do you guys think?
Any other Hogwarts’ little monsters I left out that remind you of a novel?
Let me know through the comments!
I WILL dare to say the Harry Potter series is perfect. Nice job, what a fun post!
