Sneak Peek of my Work-in-Progress

Hello everyone!

Update: I’m currently working on a short story collection, and I wanted to share a little excerpt of one of them with you guys! I’d love to hear what you think of it! So don’t be shy to let me know in the comments! 🙂

Warning: It has a dark Valentine spirit to it 😉 🖤

Here goes!

Excerpt of a short story

200 words

Written by Audrey Francis-Plante

NOTES

The first note came on February the 1st. It fell out of my locker the moment I opened it. It was written in thick red ink on a black piece of cardboard.

Roses are dead
Violets are too

Not exactly the heartwarming type. But I didn’t make a big deal out of it; I just threw it in the trash on my way to Spanish.

The next day, I found another one inside my daily planner.

Soon they all die
And so will you

I put the note on my best friend Jenny’s desk when I joined her in our chemistry class.

She read it. “That’s … lovely?”

“It’s the second note I get. It looks like it was written on an old typewriter, and I thought, Jen has one of those. Maybe she thought it was a cool Valentine’s prank or something. So? Is it you?”

“Geez, I’m not that morbid. What did the other note say?”

“Roses are dead, violets are too.”

“Holy crap. I don’t know which one is worst.”

“This one,” I said, pointing at the note on her desk. “Definitely this one.”

That’s what I thought until I got the third note on the following day.

Find who I am
Before I find you

And that’s my sneak peek!

Did you guys like it?

Let me know in the comments!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Keep writing, reading, and/or travelling! 😀
