March Wrap-Up + April Book Club

Hello fellow readers! How was your month of March?

It was a slumpy one for me, let me tell you.

I got into the worst reading AND writing slump, but I’m glad to say that I got myself out of them both (you might have read my post on How to Get Out of a Writing Slump), and that I’m now officially on fire!

I legit feel like this:

Also, I climbed out of the reading slump thanks to Nimika (Wordhaven), who asked me to join her in a first 24-hour Readathon! Have you guys ever done one? That was so much fun!

Unfortunately, though, my reading slump took 2/3 of March so I didn’t read a big total of books in the end, but whateva. Here they are:

1. A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L’Engle

It was a dark and stormy night.

I found this book super original and I’m really looking forward to watching the movie! Also, that was the book of the month of March, so Book Discussion here!

2. The Winner’s Curse, by Marie Rutkoski

“You don’t, Kestrel, even though the god of lies loves you.”

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THE FEELS I GOT READING THIS BOOK!

I truly can’t wait to get my hands on book two.

Like it physically hurts to wait.

For reals.

3. Our Dark Duet, Victoria Schwab

OurDarkDuet

”Doesn’t do much good,” she’d said. ”To fear one kind of death and not another.”

Okay. So technically, I haven’t finished reading this book yet.

But I only have 30 pages left, so I’m going to finish in the next 30 minutes, I swear! I mean, I read 400 pages out of 500 in March so it felt unfair to give this book to April, you know what I mean?

Anyway, I am LOVING IT and I can’t wait to know how it ends. Even though I’m pretty sure it doesn’t end well since the author replied to my tweet like this.

But I still can’t wait!

Book Club April

And now for the book of April!

I’ve decided to match this one with another book club that I’ve just joined #TheCursedBookClub, because we’ll be reading a book that’s been on my TBR for a while and I’m super excited to read it! 😀

…. Drumroll ….

Stalking Jack the Ripper, by Kerri Maniscalco

That’s it for me!

What did you guys read in March?

What’s on your TBR for April?

Let me know in the comments!

Have a great month!

  1. You can’t even imagine how happy I am that you liked The Winner’s Curse (and who wouldn’t love Arin, anyway?). I can’t wait to see your agony over the next book haha. After you’re done with the trilogy, you’ll see why I’m so hyped about Rutkoski’s next book (about which, by the way, there is STILL NO INFO, WHYYY).
Also, Stalking Jack The Ripper is such an interesting book; I bet you’re gonna have loads of fun with it. It’s dark, gritty and incredibly intriguing.
BTW I loooooove your new theme! It’s so chic. ❤

    1. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REST OF THE TRILOGY! But I think I’ll probably have to wait until I’m back from Europe because I really want to own the physical copies of these little babies, and I think I’m mostly going to read ebooks during my trip to avoid an ridiculously heavy backpack, haha.

AND THANK YOU! I kept tinkering with it lately, there was nothing I really liked, but I think this one will finally stick! 😀
