Top 10 Books Read in 2018

I know. I’m late. But technically, I think we can make 2018-related posts all through January. And I have a good excuse: I’M WRITING TWO BOOKS AT THE SAME TIME OH MY GOD MY LIFE GONE CIAO WHY PLEASE NO.

I’m just editing so much and editing literally turns my brain into an unstable piece of uselessness, so whenever I’m not working or writing, I curl in a ball and watch The Office a.k.a my new reason to live.

It’s a tough beginning, 2019. BUT I READ 51 BOOKS IN 2018 YAY.

And here’s my Top 10, in no particular order:

1. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Trilogy, Jenny Han

Man, oh, man, was I happy when I heard there was going to be a Netflix movie, and LORD, OH, LORD was it good!

2. The Winner’s Curse, Marie Rutkoski

Thank you, Nimika, for making me read these! I can’t wait to get a minute to finish book three, AHHHH!

3. Our Dark Duet, Victoria Schwab

I did not expect to cry like this.

4. Under the Dusty Moon, Suzanne Sutherland

suzanne sutherland

I did not expect to cry either. Read it in one sitting, literally.

5. Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom

I did not expect to cry THAT MUCH.

6. Me Before You, Jojo Moyes

I don’t know why I actually fooled myself into thinking I wouldn’t cry in this book; I think it’s pretty obvious I cry like a baby in books but this. THIS. Can’t believe I still hadn’t read it.

7. Leah on the Offbeat, Becky Albertalli

leah on the offbeat

Becky Albertalli, please, please, PLEASE, never stop writing books.

8. Things I Don’t Want to Know, Deborah Levy

things i don't wanna know

Best book to read in a bus while travelling. 🙂

9. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, Mackenzi Lee

I laughed out loud, I felt all the feels, and I wanted more! I can’t wait to read the sequel!

10. The Language of Thorns, Leigh Bardugo

That’s it for me!

What were your favorite reads in 2018?

Let me know in the comments!

And happy New Year! ♥️♥️♥️

  1. I’ve been meaning to get into “The Office” – being in banking (and now in a back-office department) would be similar to that show. I may have to find it at my library and borrow the first season soon.

    51 BOOKS?????? Congrats!!

Of these, I’ve only read Tuesdays with Morrie, wayyyy back in high school. It was a really good read. It’s been a few years since I last read anything from Mitch Albom – maybe I will return to this book, or read another work of his.

I only had 27 books for last year and had toooooo many days of no reading (like, 121 I think? ugh!) 😦 But I’m determined to be better this year! I missed two days of reading already due to evening meetings, but other than that I’ve been good and I’m on book #3 right now 🙂

    1. OMG please watch The Office, I make it my life mission to make as many people as possible watch this show, it’s so awesome!

Thank you! I’m really proud I read that many through working, travelling and writing! Isn’t Tuesdays with Morrie amazing? I hear Mitch Albom has a new book. Maybe you’ll want to check it out if you’re thinking of reading something of his.

27 days is GREAT. Be proud of you! I’ve had so many days of no reading already (but only because I’m writing and editing so much, which is kind of related, I think, haha.) And you’re already one book ahead of me! I only read two so far (and one of them was a graphic novel haha). But the year just begun 🙂

I wish you a lot of amazing books this year 😀

  2. Curling up in a ball and watching The Office is such a mood™ my friend, I feel ya.
Wait, you read 50+ books while working on SO MANY WRITING PROJECTS AND BLOGGING AND BEING AN ADULT and you’re complaining to ME about wanting to be a robot; ME, who has a mental breakdown just because of school?? Unacceptable, you’re definitely a robot.
I will never not cry when I see how much you loved The Winner’s Curse and my name associated with that book is the reason I go to bed with a box of tissues :’) (honestly tho, Arin deserves every truckfull of love we throw at him).
I straight up LAUGHED out loud at “I did not expect to cry this much” for TMOV duology and I relate so hard. I still want to sentence Our Dark Duet to the corner of the room to think about what it did to my feelings.
Also, welcome back, I can’t wait to scream in your comments again. 💛
