January Wrap-Up

Happy February, folks!

Hope January wasn’t too hard on you. On my side I’ve been stuck with a cold for at least three centuries. Fun, fun, fun.

Editing was slow, editing was slower still, but I’m gradually getting back on my feet and so is my motivation to make progress in my 2020 goals!

And I still managed to read four books in January. Here they are:

ONE: Emergency Contact

Such a cute one! Loved that it touched topics I didn’t expect, such as mother/daughter relationship and writing!

📞Would you rather spend a month without your phone or without books?📞 . . I’ve just started reading Emergency Contact and I can just tell I’m going to love this book 🖤 . . Also, I just finished Saga Volume 9 and WHAT? The next book isn’t available yet? This can’t be it? They can’t leave us in the middle of THAT crazy action?! . . To answer today’s question, definitely phone. I’ve survived a whole year without a cell phone twice and it was honestly quite liberating, but I could never give up books for more than a week, I’d go crazy 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ . . What about you? And have you read Emergency Contact? What did you think of it? Let’s talk! 🤓 . . #emergencycontact #prettybookcovers #ineedbooks #pinkbookselfie #bookishphotos #wouldyouratherquestions #bookstagramcanada #contemporarybook #bookaddict #bookstagram #booknerd #itakephotosofbooks #readeverydamnday

TWO: Charlie Rock

From a lovely Quebec author I had the chance to meet at a book event!

THREE: We Survivors

Go indie authors! 🖤

📖What’s a debut novel you really loved?📖 . . I recently won an amazing giveaway (YAY!) from the lovely debut author @ljthomasbooks and I won ALL OF THE AMAZING THINGS on this photo! . . I feel so utterly grateful (look at that amazing candle, and THE NOTEBOOK😍) and I’m a couple of chapters into We Survivors and I already love the Hunger Games vibes! I love that the chapters are super short so I can read one whenever I have a moment waiting for the bus or something! . . It made me want to give some love to other debut or indie authors out there! So if you’ve read a debut that you really loved, share in the comments so we can all check them out! . . #debutauthors #debutnovels #indieauthorsofinstagram #unboxinggiveaway #dystopianbook #bookishstuff #ilovebookishthings #allthefallvibes

FOUR: A Gathering of Shadows

Okay, so I hate to say this, but I felt like this took me forever to finish. BUT, it still probably is my favorite read of the month and I absolutely loved it. It just wasn’t as action-packed as the first book of the trilogy, it was more setting new things up for the finale. But, man, I can’t wait to read book three.

  1. A Darker Shade of Magic is on my radar to find. 🙂

I read 5 books in January which I was pretty excited to accomplish (and only one day of no reading at all)! But it’ll take me two weeks to complete my 6th book (right now) so that will kick back my progress a bit haha
